Richard Maybury says it best -- "Can you name one person in all the thousands of years of human history who rose to the top in politics by being honest?" As one political scandal dies down, don't be surprised when another pops up.



Prepare yourself to feel medicals bad and fake. Doctors enter medicine with the hope of making patients feel better. However, when delivering bad news, that's not what happens. No matter how people feel before I give them bad news, afterward they always feel worse. If I don't recognize this as normal, that working hard to make people feel good about bad news is not only counterproductive to the grieving process but potentially deleterious for our doctor-patient relationship, in the long run I'll add to my patients' pain rather than diminish it.

Knowing that these medicals fake two things are the cause of of all cases of halitosis is actually good news. Why? Because both problems are fairly simple to correct.

It's a great idea to shift the focus of the visit away from the immunizations. Ask your son or daughter what they would like to tell the doctor. Remind them if they have had a physical complaint frequently that you're hoping the doctor will address. Suggest they mention their hobbies medicals bad and fake interests. Ask them what else they think the doctor will do besides the shots.

In the case of my colleague, her problem was foot odor, which often occurs when when you don't wear socks. Our solution: she'd bring in her socks and I'd put them on her feet. Case solved.

Injury: Skiing is an exciting activity. When you are soaring down the slopes, you run the risk of being injured. If you are in another country, medical bills can be very expensive. Ski travel insurance will cover medicals incurred as the result of an injury. It will be one less problem you have to worry about if you suffer an injury. Ski insurance also protects against others. You never know when a collision with another skier may occur. Legal and court costs can be very expensive. Having personal liability insurance will cover you in the event someone sues and you have to go to court.

When you consider doing any sort of business online, look over this list and see if the appeal sounds like one or more of these scams. If so, check it out carefully before sending money.
